#1 — New Mystery GPT released
A new mysterious AI chatbot suddenly appeared on Chatbot Arena. Without any explanations, documentation, or authorship indication. It immediately demonstrated impressive capabilities in solving tasks related to programming and mathematics, as well as logical tasks. It also maintains reasoning at the level of top models - perhaps even higher. If this is not suspenseful enough, the model is called "Gpt2-chatbot." Of course, this doesn't directly indicate OpenAI authorship, but a bunch of indirect signs and investigations from the community practically confirm it. Adding to the mystery: as interest in the new chatbot was growing, it disappeared – apparently taken offline as a result of higher traffic than anticipated. It is expected to be back, though, and one of the main hypotheses is that this is a preview version of GPT 4.5 or even GPT 5. We will find out soon.
#2 — Pope Francis will deliver a report on AI
Pope Francis will participate in the G7 meeting. Why is that news in this digest? The Pope will be speaking – the first time ever for a pontiff at a G7 – at a session on artificial intelligence. The speech will be consistent with the framework of the "Rome Call for AI Ethics of 2020" project. Yes, it turns out there is such a thing. The Vatican has been dealing with the topic of ethical application of AI since 2020. It has even signed agreements with some IT companies, including Microsoft, IBM, and Cisco Systems – not about religion per se, but about the safe use of AI for humanity as a whole.
#3 — New development environment from GitHub
And finally, some news for developers. GitHub announced Copilot Workspace - a new development environment. Many integrations are expected - not only with features like Copilot Chat and code autocompletion, but also with AI agents that will help write code in the style of pair programming! Will this help people who have never written code to write it? Probably not. Will it help developers become more efficient? Absolutely!
